Girl, Wash Your Face
Author: Rachel Hollis
ISBN: 978-1-4002-2080-9
Light, inspiring read for any woman looking to make a pivot in her life, while connecting with the author who is a self-made success. Rachel is open, honest and brings humour to her book as she shares her life's challenges as a wife, mother and entrepreneur.

KEY FEATURE: Each chapter finishes with a note section, "Things That Helped Me". This section summarizes the chapter with the author's big life lesson take-aways. I liked this part, because it allowed me to leave my own notes and reflections that gave me inspiration... so going back to re-read(which I do often) is easy.

FAVOURITE PART: Chapter 11: "Get in the boat!" p.122. This story resonated with me, as someone who is re-wiring her brain and life on how to ask for and receive help
02.
Do Hard Things
Author: Steve Magness
ISBN: 978-0-06-309861-9
Stay tuned... I'm only on Chapter 3, but already CAN NOT put this book down!!

I Can Handle It
Author: Laurie Wright
ISBN: 978-0995247208
This is my go-to book for Kindergarten to Grade 2. Through the use of repetition, kids will learn of to speak to themselves in an encouraging and positive way when faced to do things they don't want it. I bought this book to read with my own children in an effort to build their positive self-talk word bank.
KEY FEATURE: The end of the book contains black and white "work" pages that parents and teachers can photocopy to extend the lesson further.

FAVOURITE PART: The repetition. By the time you're 4 pages in, when you read aloud, pause when the characters are ready to say "I Can Handle It!" and your readers will fill in the statement for you. It's an easy read for them to become a part of and easy when I carry that phrase into our daily dialogues with our kids. Ex. I know you don't want to go to your brother's basketball game after school, but... you can handle it. You can bring something to color... etc. etc.

I Can Handle It! 2
Author: Laurie Wright
ISBN: 978-1989123102
Once again, green eyed Sebastian faces many challenges in his daily life. These include bigger events like birthdays, last day of school, holidays and the emotions these days can bring up for children: fatigue, fear, stress anxiety. I would recommend this book for grades 2-3.

KEY FEATURE: The end of the book contains black and white "work" pages that parents and teachers can photocopy to extend the lesson further.

FAVOURITE PART: Once again the repetition reinforces a positive mindset for handling these tricky situations.
